So week two of bake off and the technical challenge was Florintines with the recipe supplied by Mary Berry. I could not find that recipe so had a look in my books (good old Mrs Beaton) and found one that involved double cream – which is far too rich for me. So I ended up using the recipe off the BBC website (2016 update: this recipe has now disappeared but I found the Mary Berry one)
It’s quiet an easy recipe:
Step One: Mix the sugar, butter and golden syrup in a pan. Step Two: Add the dry inqrediatents. Step Three: divide into 18! Step Four: Put in the oven for 10 minutes.
So here is my attempt at Florintines:
Verdict – they taste yummy but are a bit messy!!
